The Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Health of the Iran University of Medical Sciences is one of the health departments among Iranian medical universities with high population coverage, covering western and northwestern regions of Tehran, as well as western suburbs of the city.
Districts 2, 5, 6, 9, 18, 21, and 22 of Tehran, and Shahriar, Robat Karim, Baharestan, Qods and Malard counties comprise regions covered by this department, which is providing the best possible healthcare services in the field of PHC through 5 healthcare networks in the mentioned regions and 2 healthcare centers in the west (Districts 9, 18, 21 and 22) and northwest (Districts 2, 5, and 6) of Tehran.
Based on the latest estimates, about 5,102,472 people are covered by the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Health of the Iran University of Medical Sciences, of whom 4,780,887 individuals are urban and 321,585 ones are rural residents.
Healthcare services in the covered regions are provided through 64 Healthcare Houses, 10 rural healthcare centers, 19 rural community healthcare centers, 147 urban rural healthcare stations, and 90 urban healthcare centers.
