Enhancing the health of adolescents and students (5 to 18 years old) is one of the most important issues of health programs. Providing, maintaining, and enhancing the health of this group are essential for current and future family and societal health. Today, investing in adolescent health in educational settings is considered as one of the most important intervention programs in the healthcare system. In this regard, the study of physical health and physical and psychological disorders of students and adolescents in educational settings can help prevent diseases, improve the quality of education, control certain factors affecting academic failure, provide healthcare and educational advice, and implement timely and effective interventions.
Enhancing the health of youth (18 to 29 years old) is one of the goals of the Youth Health program. Particular attention to the special needs of different age and sex groups in society is essential at any time and place. In addition, the Supreme Leader of Iran’s emphasis on the realization of the comprehensive health and healthy human approach in Paragraph 2 of the General Health Policies calls for a change in the traditional, treatment-oriented, and one-dimensional attitude towards health to a perspective in which health has a multidimensional nature and always emphasizes the simultaneous realization of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions.
