Office of Occupational Health, tasked to provide, maintain, and improve the health level of employees,  improve workplace conditions, and reduce occupational hazards, is one of the departments responsible for well-being of covered workforce health, which include over 300 thousand employees and 29 thousand working units (in manufacturing, service, agriculture, and mining sectors). To meet this goal, around 120 occupational health professionals monitor conditions of occupational health and well-being of employees in affiliated networks and centers  and affiliates as inspectors. Approximately 20 occupational medicine centers, 8 occupational medical private practice offices, and 2 occupational medicine companies in the private sector and several occupational medical departments in affiliated networks and centers cover occupational health examinations. Occupational health services are provided to workplaces by 26 occupational health-engineering companies at different levels 1, 2, and 3 in the private sector. In addition to the Workplace Health Reference Laboratory of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Health, which provides services for pollutants assessment in the workplace, Health Care Research Center of the Iran University of Medical Sciences; School of Public Health, the Iran University of Medical Sciences; Office of Occupational Health, School of Public Health, Tehran University; and Office of Occupational Health, School of Medicine, Tarbiat Moddarres University work on health of employees in the university settings and other parts of the country.
